Bexleyheath was open heath crossed by the old road to Dover until the nineteenth century, and it grew slowly around what is now the Broadway before expanding quickly after the railway arrived in 1895. Most of its homes are 1920s and 1930s semis and terraces with long gardens, spreading out towards Barnehurst, Upton and Welling, and many have since been extended at the back or into the loft. Those extensions often sit over the original clay drains, and the heating in many houses has been upgraded in stages rather than replaced in one go.

Usually, drains serving only your property are yours, and shared drains beyond your boundary are the water company's. The engineer will tell you what they find.
No. There is no emergency surcharge. You pay the call-out rate for the time of day the engineer arrives (daytime, evening and weekend, or night and bank holiday), the same as any other visit in that band.
Travel within the area we cover, attendance, diagnosis and the first 60 minutes of work. After that, time is charged in 30-minute blocks at the extra-time rate for the same band. Parts are extra, and the engineer confirms the price before fitting anything.
No. Nothing beyond the first hour goes ahead unless you agree to it. If parts need ordering, the return visit to fit them has no second call-out charge. You only pay for the time on site.
