FAQs
Usually, yes. A drip wastes a surprising amount of water over a year, and most taps can be fixed with a new washer or cartridge. If the tap body is worn or corroded, the engineer will tell you whether a replacement makes more sense.
Yes. Have it ready when the engineer arrives, ideally boxed with all its fittings, and they'll check it suits your sink and water supply.
It could be a partly closed stopcock, a blocked valve or filter, or low pressure in the street. The engineer will test the pressure and flow to find out which.
Shop-bought unblockers can help with minor build-up but rarely shift a solid blockage, and some can damage seals. If you've used one, tell the engineer, as the chemicals can still be in the pipe.
No. An emergency costs the same as any other call-out in the same time band. You pay for the time of day, not the word "emergency".
Travel within the area we cover, attendance, diagnosis and the first 60 minutes of work. After the first hour, time is charged in 30-minute blocks at the extra-time rate for the same band.
