Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 straight away, open doors and windows, and don't use electrical switches or naked flames. Once the supply has been made safe, a Gas Safe registered engineer can repair the boiler.

You can usually repressurise it with the filling loop, following the manufacturer's instructions, to around 1 to 1.5 bar when cold. If it keeps dropping, there's a leak or faulty valve that needs finding.

Often it is, but if the boiler is unreliable or parts are hard to get, the engineer will tell you plainly. Replacement is quoted work, so you'd get a free written quote before deciding.
